How long does a food photography product shoot usually take ?

The time required to shoot a dish/product will vary widely and will largely depend on the complexity of the dish, how long your dishes take to cook, style and serve

and how clearly you communicate your idea for the dish to our team.

There’s also a big difference between a shoot for say a magazine or billboard-size prints or for pictures that will just be on a restaurant website.

As a ballpark figure we suggest planning no more than 3 dishes/day to get a decent result.

You will also need to allow time to bump-in your food and familiarize yourself with the kitchen and studio facilities.

It`s your responsibility to leave the space clean so you will need to allow additional time to clean up and bump out.

Can I bring my own photographer ?

Yes, we hire the studio “naked” so you can bring your own team. We offer a great work environment and aim to make it a convenient workspace for food photography.

Can I cook the food myself ?

Yes, you can use our fully equipped commercial kitchen with the studio hire. If you don`t want to cook yourself, we can organize a professional photo chef for the shoot.

Do I style the food myself or do you provide stylists ?

If you don`t feel comfortable styling the food yourself we can provide you with a professional food stylist with many years of experience for big brands, cookbooks and magazines. Ask us about additional cost for a food stylist.

What is photography postproduction ?

Our photographers will need to go over a large amount of pictures and select the best ones out of them. Once this pre-selection has been done then each picture is edited, cropped and saved for further use, and shared with you via WeTransfer. This process is time consuming and needs to be allowed for as an addition to the photographer`s shoot fees.

How long do I need to allow for photography post production* ?

We allow for a minimum of 1.5h of photography postproduction after the shoot. As a general rule we calculate 1.5h for and half day (4h) and 3h for a full day (8h) but this will depend on the complexity of your shoot and a few other factors that we will try to work out with you before the shoot takes place.

Who owns the copyright for the photos ?

Under the Copyright Act 1968 the photographer is the first owner of the copyright.
